review 1: Review...LeeannIt was really refreshing to read about an older couple that had a lot of life experience to draw on..In Let Love Be we meet Lucy and Evan.Lucy is a single mum who's husband passed away just weeks before she gave birth to their daughter Melanie. Lucy has not had a relationship in the 18 years since her husband passed.Evan is a retired fire fighter who has never married and has no children. As soon as Lucy and Evan meet they feel a connection, however their first meeting was a chance encounter and they don't run into each other until months later. When Evan and Lucy reconnect the sparks fly and they feel that connection again.Lucy is very independent, she has been on her own a long time and knows how to take care of herself. But her independence doesn't make h... moreer too proud to accept help if she needs it.Evan is fiercely protective of Lucy and really just likes to make her smile and feel happy. He carries a lot of misguided guilt from his past and initially has trouble opening up. When he eventually tells Lucy everything she beautifully responds to him and guides him to the realization that things happen sometimes beyond your control and sometimes you just have to make the best of the situation your in.This is a beautiful story about 2 people at a point in their life where they know what they want and realize life is too short not to go after it.They both know that it takes work and commitment to make a relationship last. They love each other enough to make that happen. There are a few moments where they forget to communicate but they fix the problem as soon as they realize there is one and they move on. They don't store it for use as an emotional weapon later.I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it was really well written and drew me in immediately. From the moment Lucy and Evan met I could see they were a perfect match and was cheering for them to make it. I was not disappointed with this book at all. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who likes a sweet romance that also has a substantial story line. There are sex scenes but they don't overshadow the story. There are also some very sad moments but they are nicely balanced out with the happiness, joy and love.Definitely 5 stars for Let Love Be!!Easy 5 stars ...Leeann
review 2: ******This book was gifted for an honest review. This is the story of Lucy Crane and Evan Donovan. These two have been through so much, but with eachother help they will get through it. Sometimes loving somebody is what it really takes to get someone through the hard times that come there way. It's about second chances at love and finding the love they are suppose to have in life. At times during this book I was crying and had to stop reading, I'm a sucker for a good book. It truly hit home for me about second chances in love cause we all want that if you've been through a rough patch in your life. This book is about love, loss and second chances at finding love this time around. Love can happen to all of us at different ages. I love this series by Author Melissa Collins and can't wait to see what she has for us. This book is truly a good book, but the series as whole is really awesome. Go grab this book and I promise you will not be disappointed in it. I can say Author Melissa Collins has a gift and that is why I'll always read her book now and the future.Reviewed by Tina reviewer for MNP less
