review 1: This was a refreshing surprise to find a Christmas time book that was not cheesy and tacky. Holly finds a charm bracelet in a jacket pocket that was donated to the vintage clothing shop where she works. Because she has a charm bracelet that is dear to her, she sets out to trace the owner. She involves her son Danny. I liked the characters and the relationships they have. It was a fun, light read with a surprising conclusion!
review 2: I would've given this book 2 stars if it weren't for the story idea about a charm bracelet. I even surprise that I could finish this book after all. It could have been a much better book actually.- I wish the author would explore each character a little bit more. I usually get the pic of a character in the book from the minute I r
... moreead the description about them, but I feel like the author had failed to do so.- the plot feels too slow at the beginning, and then suddenly rush into the end of the story. I'm intrigue to read more about Holly & Greg after the New Year's Eve, but unfortunately it's where the book has ended.- The story could have been more sweeter, actually. Sure, it tells the sweet story between Jeff and Christina. But, what about the main character, Holly & Greg? After all, Christina had set the mission for Holly so that she could meet Greg.- some parts of the story in this book remain unsolved, such as the story about Nick and his relationship with his son. Has he succeded to be a better father for Danny? Also the story about Greg's new career, sure he has found his dream job, but, that's it?- This story is too focusing on Jeff & Christina's story. Holly's side of story sure is interesting, and so does Greg's, but there's no relation between those stories.- and how come Greg had been so blinded by love and he didnt see what's coming for his and Karen's relationship?- I dont really feel the connection between each story in this book, and I feel like the author could shape it better. She has an interesting story idea, if only she could tell the story better...- and also, I dont feel the connection between this story and the 9/11. It feels as tho the author had forced this tragedy to fit in the story, but it doesnt even relate to the story whatsoever.Again, I wish I could peek a little at Holly & Greg's future :(Over all, this book is just OK, but I gave an extra point for the story theme :) less
