review 1: Australian cowboy in Hawaii. How can you go wrong? Former Special Air Service Regiment (SASR) Elias St. John has lost the only family he has ever known American Joe Kaheaku. When he got out of service he went to work for Joe on his ranch in Hawaii. Now at the reading of the will he finds that Joe didn't leave him the ranch as promised, well not all of it anyway. He will have to share it with Joe’s niece, Crysta, for six months before he can buy it from her. Which comes as a surprise to everyone. Eli isn't the only one who thought they would inherit the ranch. Joe’s brother and nephew own a much smaller ranch bordering Joe’s. They make it clear that they don’t approve of Joe’s will, Crysta or pretty much anything but how far are they willing to go to get ... morethe ranch? Eli (the Delicious Dom) is knocked out by Crysta she is gorgeous, smart, and submissive but getting involved would be a mistake wouldn't it?It was wonderful seeing the cocky, charismatic, cowboy Dom fall. Eli has been one of my favorite secondary characters and I was tickled to see him finally get his lady. Ms. Schroeder’s love for the islands comes through in all the books but I especially felt it in this story.
review 2: I'm a HUGE fan of author Melissa Schroeder and her Harmless series so I could not help but be thrilled when her newest release. A Little Harmless Ride, recently came out. I could not wait to read Eli St. John's story and find out the woman that would capture this sexy, Australian Dom's heart. I was drawn to Eli right from page one and I could feel my chest tighten at the pain he endured. You could not help but hope he could find happiness but first. He would have to get through the loss of the man he considered family. The author did a great job conveying this character's raw emotions within a few pages and I couldn't wait to read what happened next. I loved and adored Crysta Miller, the sweet yet feisty and tough heroine who was the perfect woman for Eli. She was a submissive but only in the bedroom and had no qualms with speaking her mind and doing what she wanted outside of it. I had so much fun seeing the interaction between Eli and Crysta as they worked together to keep the ranch out of the hands of her devious family members while fighting the attraction between them. They had great chemistry and the sex scenes were hot which included some spankings. Of course, one of my favorite things about this book was that I got to see some of my favorite characters such as Micah, Dee and May in action again. OMG! I still love Micah SO much and loved how he could get under Eli's skin and push him towards acting on his feelings for Crysta. LOL! May and Dee were hilarious together and they had me laughing.I also enjoyed the suspenseful elements in this story as I'm a huge fan of romantic suspense genre. This book had a little bit of everything and it was worth the wait to read Eli and Crysta's love story. I love when a good woman will fight for the man she loves and reach inside his soul. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series. less
