review 1: It was ok, typical nonsensical romance novel. Not being a cook myself, I had the hardest time with the cooking school concept, that she could go from not knowing how to cook to following a recipe well enough to give classes in just 2 weeks. Following a recipe does not make a good cook!! My biggest critique though was Holly stating "I love Liam" after just 2 or 3 dates, but I guess thats just typical romance. Overall it was easy to read, I did like most of the characters, and was kind of entertained for the day.
review 2: A very enjoyable read. The book has a very 亲切 feel to it. In less foreign words, it's the kind of story that warms your heart from the inside. It invites you into Holly's kitchen and it's like you're there too, listening to Holly's worri
... morees, watching her wish upon her grandmother's River Po stones and hoping for the best for her. There is not a lot of plot here but I enjoyed how the main focus was on Holly and the book really took its time to develop Holly's character and growth, her worries, her wishes and her dreams. The other characters were a fun bunch too and didn't take away any focus from the story, instead acting like good supporting actors should and giving the book the light-heartedness it needed to balance and otherwise heavy plot. less
