review 1: I loved the Meljean Brook story - solid story with lots of steam punk elements but described in a way that you can follow the story without a lot of background and as a new reader but without a dumping of a lot of information to explain time and place in the story. I loved the main characters in this one. I also really liked the Sims shifter story especially hot Estrella and Vic come to realize what they can have between them. I did not read the last story as magic and witches are not quite my area of interest.
review 2: I would probably rate this anthology 3 ½ stars if I could. I liked all of the stories except for Carolyn Crane’s story, which I thought was just okay. The premise was interesting but I had a hard time finishing it because I kept losing ... moreinterest. Meljean Brook’s story was the best. It was well written with great world building and characters I came to care about. I really need to make time to read Brook’s full-length novels because her short stories set in this world have been very enjoyable. less
