review 1: The summary on the back is incredibly misleading. Eco-friendly designers are only in the first couple of chapters. Erin's 'involvement' never hurts anything.The book is a thinly veiled attempt to talk about personal relationships with God. The religion in the book does nothing to advance the plot. The characters aren't believable or interesting. They're all pretty flat. Petty, selfish people are not Christians. The more fleshed-out 'good' characters are. I had a lot of trouble believing that the characters were supposed to be about my age. I remember thought processes like Erin's when I was 10, and I'm not that advanced.The most traumatizing event in the book was a TSA incident, versus a fatal car crash. Successful careers happen because young girls work hard for 'God' and... more not their own ambitions.Some pluses:-I actually finished the book, so it could have been worse.-I got an uncorrected proof and only noticed one error. So good job with that.
review 2: Won this in a drawing, this is the first teen christian book I read. It had nice messages about not being selfish, praying, and facing obstacles. Erin, the camera girl was the main character who I really liked, it's just that reading it there wasn't really a clear story on what was going on, no specific instance or conflict that you were waiting to get resolved...then at the very end a few traumatic things happen, it gets dealt with properly and then it's the end.It's an okay book, and has a good perspective on how to deal with issues, it's just not an exciting story, it just isn't. less
