review 1: This was a weird book as I suppose any book about superheroes battling space nazi's would be. It was enjoyable and well written I think because it knew exactly how silly it was without resorting to hamming it up too much. I was a bit confused though why at one point we abandoned the space nazi invasion saga and went on a story about a magical woman fighting a gang of psi-vampires with the aid of a real one. There was no explanation of why this story, which very much did not fit the rest of the book, was in there. It was an enjoyable story but perplexing. Especially as we went back to the space nazis again but haphazardly and without real understanding what was going on. I will read the others in the series but I hope I get a better idea what's goin... moreg on.
review 2: a fun read if you are a fan of the metahuman superhero genre e.g. X Men. There are a lot of characters in this story and it jumps around a lot, so if that annoys you as a literary device be warned. I think the plot occasionally gets lost in the jump cuts, but I still found it to be entertaining plane reading. Got it as a part of the Humble Bundle, might check out some of the following books in the series. less
