review 1: This was a quick read, but not very engaging. Lots of talking, very little action. What action there was, at the end, was pretty good, and two decent twists to go with it! But pretty boring up 'till then. I did love the description of the house in the woods and found myself wishing I could see it! Especially the door that seemed to lead nowhere. It certainly painted a picture for me and I wish it were real!
review 2: I enjoyed the book and finished in only a few days. It had a bit of a dark or depressing feel in the beginning and end but i felt was necessary because of where they are in their lives. I thought it was a bit slow and had a back and forth feel that got kind of annoying and lost its shocking feel. Over all was written really well and is a must
... moreread for the series. I felt this book was more so to explain what is going to happen with Perry and his partner and where they both stand with the business. A good set up but not as good as the previous ones. less

Maybe not as good as couple earlier books in the series, but still pretty good.

A nice little mystery diversion. Nothing more.

Good. Not his best book. A little boring.
