review 1: This slow cooker book is good, but please be aware that it's the more complex method of slow-cooking: sautee this and that then cook then add something near the end. It's good though.I don't use the recipes very often, but I do a lot of cross-referencing with this book. I used it a lot at first when using my slow cooker, but then I ran out of time. As a very busy graduate student, I rarely have the bandwidth to do multiple step meals.
review 2: I really enjoyed looking through the recipes in this book, and am looking forward to trying them. It is not easy to find slow-cooker recipes that go beyond the "cream-of-mushroom soup" variety. This book not only eschews the tired slow-cooker tropes, but introduced me to some new Italian recipes as well. While many of t... morehese recipes are not the kind you can leave cooking all day (which is a boon for those of us who work outside the home), I think I can make most of the work, anyway. Salmon in the slow cooker--can't wait to try it. Nice photos, too. less
