review 1: The baby goes out with the bathwater here: secrets stand revealed; the reset button is hit; your heart will break.I love how Peter's pencils always continue to develop and transform, whether he's working solo or with a finisher. There's always development in his work, never unrecognizable but always delivering more with each successive issue.I also loved the .5-issue guest artists -- especially Rick Geary (genius "casting" by the editor) -- but the stories seemd to be "meh," with the exception of the devastating Mme. Bausch episode.
review 2: This volume felt like an improvement from the previous two, with side stories that gave clues and hints in regards to the main story and more importantly, kept you interested and not-confused. One of the best parts in my o
... morepinion was Rausch' backstory, which once again shows how differently stories work for each person and how each one of us is a story in the end.Not expecting much due to the previous volumes, I found the ending wonderfully climatic. At the same time, the story kept a balance between making sense and keeping some of its secrets for future plotlines. For an odd reason, I also appreciated Pullman's character development since -in my eyes- he seemed to stray from the stereotypical villain behaviour and you could actually understand the reason behind his actions. Mike Carey also proves at the end what a great story-weaver he is by adding the story of a new character re-telling and following the main plot from his own point of view. Furthermore, he shows that even the most peripheral of characters in a story can be affected and affect a story in turn. Where one story ends, another one will probably spring from its ending after all.Last but not least, I was left thinking that an important element in the Unwritten's narrative(s) is that it gives you the tools and elements but lets you do all the thinking, philosophical-wondering work, lets you make your own interpretations. less

Very addicted to this series and just wishing I didn't have to wait so long between volumes!

fabulous, always surprising, I like the villainous characters, but all are multidimensional.
