review 1: This volume collects the Unwritten/Fables crossover. I'm only reading Fables in collections I check out from the library, so I don't know if there are Fables issues with this crossover, but this is just Unwritten issues.Having said that, this is almost entirely a Fables story. There is very little progress for the Unwritten characters. However, the Fables story advances quite a bit and apparently ends.
review 2: I love "The Unwritten" as a series, but I'm not sure where the story is headed and whether this side-trip into "Fables" territory has any bearing on what will come next. Supposedly it will (according to the blurb on the book). The highlight of this collection for me was seeing the different illustration styles--Peter Gross ("Unwritten") and Mark Bucking
... moreham ("Fables") are very different artists, choosing to highlight different aspects of the story; even the layout changes from chapter to chapter. I admit I like the "Fables" art-direction better, but the story and art work together nicely to cross between the two series. In general, both of these Vertigo series touch on the same topic: fiction vs. reality. But while "Fables" focuses on the stories being told, "Unwritten" comments more on the place of the author in bringing fiction to life. They are two of my favorite on-going series, and while this is not a true crossover (it takes place in an alternate "Fables" universe where Mr. Dark has defeated Fabletown), it's fun to see the characters from both series interacting with each other. If you haven't read either series before, this is not the place to start, but for fans of one or the other, reading this story might whet your appetite for the series you aren't currently reading. less

Not so keen on this one - a Fables crossover and I haven't kept up with that

Unbelievably inferior to every volume before it.
Lizzy
Cute, but not really worth the cross-over.
