review 1: Quick read and I want to start by saying I Love Freshbooks and loved the unique way they introduced and offered this little short book/document. The premise of Breaking the Time Barrier is one I have been using in my coaching program: value- or package- based pricing versus hourly. So I can't emphasize that concept strongly enough for the new business owners out there. This book was extremely short but it was a long dialogue of a case study that outlines the notion that hourly pricing is business suicide. Short read and well-done. Read if you are struggling with your packaging, pricing and most of all, positioning.
review 2: I have never felt comfortable with pricing my work with hourly rates, even though I use them all the time as a freelance webdesigner. I ei... morether feel that my customers pay too much for the time spent or that I didn't big high enough for the value I brought... either way I feel off the mark. This book shares a vision of a new pricing model that let go of hours and focus on value exclusively, and explains how it works clearly enough that it gives me everything I need to implement it and try it for myself.Actually I'm about to do that now! I have a proposal to make and will focus on value for my customer to finally hit the mark that feels good for both my customer and myself! And that means pricing higher with confidence :) To grow my own business as well as my customer's.Highly recommended for freelancers who want to price their services appropriately. less
