review 1: I'm not a religious person but I love Oregon Trail stories so I thought I would give it a try. The characters are stock characters. You have the sweet girl who has strained from her faith. Her devout, sweet best friend, a drunkard father, bad boy love interest and a good guy Love interest/ hero who loves to pray! Honestly the character are all used to push the "this is a novel about how much you need Jesus" angle, and it got annoying fast. Each of them were very one dimensional, even their pain was less that believable, it centered around the idea that no one an be a good person without being extremely devout. At one point the "best friend" even says she can't love a guy because he isn't a Christian, give me a break. I didn't like the authors idea of faith either, I though... moret it was very single sided, but that's a personal thought. The chapters were jumpy and unorganized, the romance bland. If you aren't religious, skip it, the by amount of religion in it is overbearing and in the end unpleasant. If you are however you may love the book, it's really a personal preference.
