review 1: Another birthday present (this one from husband). It's a chick lit book and therefore light and easy to read. I liked the north of England setting...when we got there...after about a third of the book. The characters were for the most part likable when you were supposed to like them and unpleasant when you weren't. It was easy to be transported and get into the story, enjoy the mystery and the predictably happy ever after ending. I'm a sucker for happy endings! Anyway not a literary masterpiece but an enjoyable holiday read.
review 2: I did not intend to read this, having taken it out of the library for my mum to read. Just about to return it but read a couple of pages and then got into it... If you ignore the references to how sexy each male character could be... more, this is an enjoyable fairy tale like tale (or should I say tail! - read the book to see what I mean!!) Easy to read, it has all the ingredients for a good holiday read leaving the reader with a good feeling at the end of it all. Plenty of goodies and baddies and they all lived... Good fun. less
