review 1: Another awesome story of mystery and suspense by one of my very favorite authors-Mindy Starns Clark! I do hope she continues to write more of these and more of the Amish stories. This story took place in Louisiana, and the suspense and mystery originated since the early 1700's in France. I don't want to give the story away, you just have to read it. It will keep you captivated till' the late hours of the night, just to find out what is going to happen next, it happened to me!
review 2: Usually I find that books that alternate between two different timelines tend to drag a bit during the "past" sections. I was delighted to find that this was not the case in this story. Even better, those passages didn't continue getting longer and longer as I neared the en... mored of the book which slows down the action of the main story.My only complaint is that at some points the Christian element seemed kind of clunky. Sometimes it was a smooth transition and sometimes it seemed forced. It was a minor thing, though. Overall I liked it a lot and I will be reading more from this author. less
