review 1: I didn't fancy myself a mystery fan, and I thought Mindy Starns Clark was just another writer of Amish romance. Boy, was I wrong on both accounts. I'm sorry I didn't pick up her novels sooner. I'm hearing her speak at a workshop this week, so reading her books is like doing my homework. I could think of worse things!This was a great story of regret, guilt, forgiveness with elements of suspense and clothed in mystery. I enjoy reading about places that are familiar to me, and I can't wait to visit her Website and find out what's fact and what's fiction.I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.
review 2: The book was ok. It is a mystery set in Lancaster County, PA home of the Amish. I finished it to find out the conclusion of the mysteries, which were ... morepretty predictable. The idea of the book is great and has promise. But I found the book too preachy, the plot too predictable and the love story lacking. If you want to read a good mystery, a good story set within the Amish Community I would recommend "Plain Truth" by Jodi Picoult and take a pass on this one. less
