review 1: Miranda Dickinson does such an amazing job of writing settings. Her novels are set in fabulous places that I'd love to slip into - and this book doesn't disappoint on that front. Sadly, the characters felt a bit flat to me, the story was predictable, and I felt like I was 3/4 of the way through with still no real substantial story or plot to keep me interested. It was a sweet story and I hope her next novel suits me better!
review 2: I didn't enjoy this book at all. The emotions I had at the start of the book were similar to the emotions I felt when reading Mhairi McFarlane's "You Had at Me At Hello." I thought that the beginning was draggy and in contrast to the thrill I felt towards the latter (Mhairi's), I just finished Dickinson's book for the sake of fini
... moreshing it. I hated Woody Jensen and his annoying lingo (no offense to rockers) and I didn't really like the character development of Elsie. The only decent characters there were Daisy Maynard, Guin Maynard, and Jim Maynard. I didn't like the two guys: Olly and Torin. I always knew that Torin would end up with Elsie but I HATED the build-up. And Olly just sounded super clingy, it was weird. I didn't like Elsie's thought processes too. This entire book almost sounded like a YA novel trying to be mature, which pretty much sucks since I expected a change or something. I don't know, but I didn't really like it at all. Sorry. less

A nice easy read. Really enjoyed the story but Slightly typical romantic story. Great none the less.

This story was sweet and a little cheesy at times, but very heart-felt.

Fluffy stuff, predictable but relatively entertaining.
