review 1: BLESS HER DEAD LITTLE HEART is the first book in the new Southern Sisters mystery series by Miranda James. Miss An'gel and Miss Dickce Ducote, "older" sisters, are cat sitting the delightful Diesel from James' CAT IN THE STACKS mystery series. The Ducote sisters are the cream of Athena, Mississippi's society. They know everyone and everyone knows them. They are having a lovely day at home when their doorbell rings and one of their sorority sisters is at their door looking for a place to stay. She's driven all the way from California and says someone is trying to kill her. Being the lovely southern ladies they are, they can't turn her away. It's not long before their home is filled with this woman's whole family. "Yikes" is putting it mildly. Instead of a locked room murder... more, we have a locked house murder. Some laugh at loud moments and I'm ready to read the next in the series as I want to see what happens next ... .... .......
review 2: After reading the first 5 Cat in the Stacks books, I was familiar with the Southern Sisters who are deserving of their own series. This was a fun book to read with unusual murder devices and houseful of difficult people. Since I was captivated by the cover dog, I was a little anxious about when he was going to appear in the story. His storyline was a good one. I am looking forward to more books in both series! less
