review 1: Lydia Carlton is a fairy doctor who solves problems between fairies and humans. In previous volumes, Lydia helped Edgar Ashenbert become the Earl of Ibrazel and now she is bound to him in a relationship full of attraction and manipulation. Lydia is often conflicted by her feelings for this handsome man with a troubled past. In this volume, Lydia works to find a young woman who has disappeared. The Fog man is the prime suspect and the keys to the mystery are a fairy egg, a petulant cousin, and a fairy beast with shadowy motives.The graphics are attractive and are consistent with the Manga format. It is fun to learn to read in an opposite direction from normal Western text. The characters are immediately recognizable The mystery format has a lot of tension to move the sto... morery along; a missing women, complicated relationships, unknown motives of the characters. The connection to a continues series creates intrigue and interest. A light read about a girl who can see fairies and her charming but nefarious suitor.
review 2: 4.5 stars out of 5Wow. This far exceeded my expectations, actually.Many problems I've had in the past with these books were fixed in this volume. Characters were more fleshed out, a new story I could follow was introduced, and Lydia! Oh Lydia...I was so pleased to find that she's a much stronger person than before. She is now standing up for herself. She is sarcastic, and treats Edgar with the sauce he deserves. More importantly, she doesn't come across as obsessed with him or as needing him.Due to her character growth, all other elements in this book were elevated. As always, I've got to point out that the artwork is fantastic! less
