review 1: I think this one might have been slightly weaker than the prequel, though why I'm not certain. The author of the novels probably did spend much time on having the characters think about their lives and decisions, but that was mainly lost in translation from novel to manga. There was a part of the plot that seemed very rushed, and even though that did feel intense in its own way, I would have preferred a different approach. So far, though, I still rate the entire series with a solid 3.5/5.
review 2: I never would have thought I'd read about more different kinds of fairies in a manga than in anything European I've read, but there you have it. Volume two continues in much the same vein as the first - I still love that the "Earl" of the title is not quite a good gu... morey or a bad guy, but a determined and focused guy who could make decisions either way.The art continues to be very pretty, but the pacing seems a bit off. That, and some fo the stuff just plain didn't make good sense. It felt like reaching, a bit. Still, a solid 3 less
