review 1: This book is super short yet I still couldn't get through it. I mean, I got to 80 bloody per cent and then dumped it before I died of boredom. The characters are exactly the same person. EXACTLY THE SAME. There were a few weak differing characteristics, like Alex being shy, but that was pretty much never seen and then they morphed into the same person. All the conversations were useless. And way to ruin the ENTIRE STORY by giving away the ending in the first chapter, by setting it in the future. Having alternating chapters of how they met as kids being boring and the same person, and then them as adults being boring and the same person did not work in the slightest. I can tell how most romance novels are going to end up from the blurb, but I like the illusion of surprise, ... moreya know? But these alternating chapters seriously ruined the entire story - I might've kept going, but just the thought of another future-them chapter with absolutely no action in it made me want to put my head through a wall.
review 2: I would give this one 3.5 stars! It's the story of Taylor and Alex, who are currently married and just moving in to a house they've renovated. Told in flashbacks, it's the story of how they met in high school and fell in love. I loved the flashbacks! I love Young Adult and Coming of Age stories. The current storyline didn't do much for me though. Other than confirming for us very early on that things do work out for these two long term, I don't think it did much for the story. less
