review 1: Thoroughly enjoyable! 2nd in the series, read the first when it came out and thought it good, but the author was just "getting her legs under her," and here she shows she's really got it. Good story, good pace, enjoyable characters to follow and the "bad guys" are believably bad, not those insufferable super-villain CGE movie type evildoers. A little wine, a little food appreciation, a little romance and the lovely Provence setting certainly didn't hurt either...
review 2: Fun. Just the kind of murder mystery I like: not part of a cozy "themed" series in which a cat solves all the crimes or the amateur detecetive runs a tea shop or something, and not a hard-boiled CSI-type police procedural. This is more of an engaging puzzle, with lots of suspects and twist
... mores, a well developed setting, intelligent dialogue, and believable detective characters whom I like. The plot this time involves the murder of a high level professor in the world of French academia. A good sequel; I can't wait for the next one. less
