The Black Sun's Daughter
review 1: Another outstanding urban fantasy from M. L. N. Hanover, AKA Daniel Abraham. This fourth volume in the series does a great job of raising the stakes and digging deeper into the characters and their motivations. And it happens in a way that feels organic and compelling, not forced. If I can be allowed one complaint, I wish religious folks, particularly Christians, were portrayed in a more nuanced fashion. They come across as overzealous nuts, and I'm a bit worried that it's only going to get worse when Jayne's family shows up on the scene.
review 2: Having flown through all four of these in the series in a week, I've definitely enjoyed them, and this one a bit more than no 3. There seemed more solidity to this one, plus, I didn't really enjoy the main romant
... moreic relationship in the first few. There were some nice humorous touches, and the heroine seemed better drawn in this book, perhaps because we learn more about her, as she learns about herself. Clearly a lot of mysteries left for future books though! 3.5 more than a 3. less

A bit slower than the last but that felt okay, considering all that had happened.
