The Black Sun's Daughter
review 1: Better than the first book, Jayne growing up and growing into her role is nice to see. New faces and old in this book, definitely going to be reading the next book. The first book was not bad, but this book was better. This book had a lot of twists and turns, a lot of misdirection which made it even more interesting to read. This was definitely a series that came out of left field and keeps on going. This series so far is not like other's I have read before and that makes it interesting in new ways. ONLY PROBLEM...someone needs to research interstates directions a little better...only someone who has driven on I-10 knows you can't go NORTH on a east.west highway...something that stuck out and actually pulled me out of the book for a bit.
review 2: I loved this
... moreentry in the series every bit as much as the first and for many of the same reasons. There's less discovery here, obviously, as the series has already kicked off and we've met most of the core characters, had the premise introduced, etc. But what we lose in that, we gain in subtly clued plot twists and another round of excellent characters, plus further nuance in the initially black and white view of the supernatural Jayne is presented with. Absolutely worth your time. less
