review 1: This book is a very easy reader for children! The illustrations were my favorite part and I really enjoyed reading through it! Children would enjoy the animals as characters because that is a common theme for young children. I think this book would be a great read aloud book. It could be read aloud by the child to an adult or by an adult to the child. It makes for a good read aloud because the sentences are short and mostly exclamatory! It is a silly book because there is no such thing as "pig day" in actuality so there is humor in the idea of the book. I enjoy Mo Willems's work because his books are so inviting and positive! This book teaches an important lesson on friendship as well, that is not too deep for young children to comprehend!
review 2: I'm... more not a huge pig fan, however, we love Mo Willems and my best friend IS a pig fan, so I can't wait to buy her this book! Willems once again enchants with this adorable book about celebrating all that is you, in your own unique way. With a little surprise at the end, this made for much fun and enjoyment in our household. Willems is still one of the few authors to completely and totally captivate both my 5 yr old and twin 3 yr olds at the same time, for the ENTIRE book. Highly recommended! less
