review 1: I love this book.I think that children will enjoy the story centering on Elephant and Piggie's exchange over dancing. It is very funny and is a way for the readers to participate in the story. Willems uses animated illustrations and minimal color. The main colors used are pink and gray, which are the colors of the main characters; a pig and elephant. There is a lot of white background, and the text is large, which makes it ideal for young readers. The text appears in color thought bubbles to match the character who is speaking.Pink thought bubble when piggie speaks, and gray when elephant speaks. I think young readers would enjoy reading the story because the text is given to them a little at a time with minimal words on each page. Children would also enjoy the funny ill... moreustrations of the pig in a tutu giving a dance lesson to an elephant.i like how Willems gets into the mind of children to express their fears and concerns of what they think are their limitations he also used a lot of repetition in the dialogue between the elephant and the piggie, which is excellent for those beginning readers. The author also uses a basic topic of dance to show how being different isn’t always bad. Even though the elephant cannot dance, he does the elephant.I strongly recommend this book because its funny but at the same time they teach you a valuable lesson.
review 2: The book was about an elephant that cannot dance. So a pig see that the elephant can not dance so the piggy says "I can teach you how to dance". The elephant says " I will love to learn how to dance". At the end the piggy teaches the elephant how to dance but elephant gives up because he sees that he cant dance. Until he realizes that is not that he cant dance is just that he has his own way to dance because he is an elephant. By: Jazmine Tehuitzil less
