review 1: This was an interesting take on vampires and the humans who deal with them. Iris is one of these people who runs a concierge service, but for vamps. So she gets a new contract, aka a new vampire, and goes to his house to drop off his forms and contract, but before she does she trips over said vampire in his kitchen. He has been poisoned!! But how?! It's long and drawn out, but still sort of interesting. But what bothered me is that Cal, the vampire, and Iris come together with a lot of sexual tension, but then fall in love....and it didn't seem really explored, the balance was more focused on the poisoning, but felt like it was missing the wooing loving aspect of the story. Aside from that I did enjoy the book.
review 2: I absolutely love Molly Harper books. T... morehe stories are so well crafted that I have a hard time remembering that they are fantasy. The characters are so realistic that I feel that I could run into them in my everyday life. Sure I know that vampires are not real but Ms Harper creates vampires in such a way that the characters appear more human than many humans in other books. While I do enjoy the over the top vampire characters in other books it is a refreshing change to read about vampires that are so normal that it is easy to imagine them living next door. less
