review 1: This book wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. It was pretty boring actually. I felt like I was reading page after page of historical facts about Kentucky, which was interesting, but completely took away from the actual story line, and pretty much ruined the romance. I also found Josh to be a rather weak male lead. And the HEA was pretty much spoiled by Sadie caving to his stupidity. I doubt I will continue this series.
review 2: OK - I love Molly Harper's writing. There. It's out there. And add to that Amanda Ronconi is an awesome narrator. So it's going to be hard for me to not like this book going in. And I did like this book quite a bit. BUT...I admit I struggled a little with that whole southern girl sucking it up and smiling while looking pretty thing. ... moreAnd I struggled with the male lead as well. Granted - a lot of his jerkness was miss-perception, but I found myself well into the book before I actually WANTED them to get together. But in the end it was an enjoyable book and as is often the case with a Molly Harper book, I find myself missing the characters hours (days....weeks...) after I have finished the book. less
