review 1: Standard romance with the added fillip of Highlanders. Brawn and bravery as Robert, the Bruce, invades England and almost succeeds in breaking the British hold. The lonely, seventeen year old sister of an English knight, Roselin Clifford, develops a crush on Robert Boyd while he a prisoner. She helps him escape and six years later, he repays her kindness by kidnapping her. He hates the English; she is able to see both sides of the Scottish/English issues. Sparks fly. review 2: Well...I am as finished as I am going to be. I just could not read this book. I have been reading it off and on (or trying to) for many months and just could not buy in to the story. I suppose if I had started at the beginning of the series I may have f... moreelt differently about this book, but if all I do is yawn when I read and then count how many pages (constantly) to the end of the chapter, I know I am done.DNF less
