review 1: This series of books is not Game Of Thrones, by any stretch of the imagination; however, they are imaginative...some hinky historical discrepancies that are glaringly obvious as you read through this series; the love story(s) are pretty unimpressive, but overall the challenge of keeping up with all of the details and the characters and the bad vs. good people is fast paced, intriguing, captures your imagination just enough to keep you wanting more. Overall, a very good series to keep your mind occupied while you wate for the next GOT book.
review 2: Ok so I was a little busy the last couple of months and could not read this one. So now that I had the time and read it I was very confused about what was going on. If you read my previous review I stated that there... more is way too many storylines to follow and this proved it. Another consequence of all these characters is that each one of their storylines ends in a cliff-hanger at the end of the book. So needless to say if you don’t read the series for a while you will be very much lost.BUT once you get back into the world again you realize what a fantastic series it is! Great action, gripping cliff-hangers and fantastic drama. Which is why I keep coming back to the series and probably will keep coming back for the future books in the series. less
