review 1: Absolutely loved this series. Lost love, danger, fighting independence. It was spectacular! Oh, and let's not forget the humor. Do you know how embarrassing it is to laugh out loud in a public setting over something only you know about? lmfao! This book had so much humor, OMG!It also has to be mentioned that this was written so differently from Willis's other series. Truly awesome to have two different writing styles! I know I am a fan for life and will be following all future books!
review 2: I know these three books will stay with me forever. We are finally able to see Daemon’s side of events in Conquer, the emotions he held while he was being transferred from foster home to foster home. The disappointment he felt when he was refused the chance to keep hi
... mores promise to Paige and return to her. Paige will have to come face to face with the lies that she grew up with and Daemon being the man we have grown to love is a major player in leading her to the same forgiveness he had achieved in his life. He takes on the challenge to get Paige stronger in self-defense so she can use the control she so desires in a productive way. There are times I am busting up laughing at her fear of clowns and her shooting a gun for the first time. The author gives us a chance to see how Anne progresses in her recovery and we are able to celebrate with David on the match made in heaven that he has found. When we started this series we had three young adults living together, going to work and dealing with their own demons and bad choices. With this book we are left with knowledge of what the future holds for each and how they have moved on with their lives. Although I still would love to see a book about Anne and see her journey completed. We finally have the answers behind the evil actions of Chris. How he grew up and it brought up the serious question of how can two children, growing up in abusive homes turn out to be so different? The final scenes with Chris was pretty dramatic, I had a racing heart and tissues on hand just waiting for this to turn even uglier. The hero in the story will surprise you, but it shouldn’t. Just another sample of how we as society expect less from victims than what they are capable of doing.Ms. Willis brought us a full action packed, emotionally driven, love enduring series with these three books. This series is the total package when it comes to life. Beyond the words on the pages in these books, she also gives us a message to carry in our hearts. We are not created to be abused, we are not what the abusers say about us, we are not what life has determined us to be. We are who we claim to be, who we set out to be and the power is within us. We have the choice in life to be victims to others, or survivors from events. We decide if we turn our back on the evil being done, or we stand up for those who have yet learn to use their voice. Paige and Anne are strong women, role models to all of us. Daemon is the man we dream our little girls will someday find and marry. Although he was broken and beaten from early on, he decided to make something of himself and to rally against others being hurt. Chris, although he had the same childhood as Daemon, decided to go a different way. He decided to live in anger and resentment and the evil he unleashed was wide-spread.I strongly suggest this series to everyone. I have had two people who took my suggestion to read these books and both have come back telling me they love this series and they were greatly impacted by the story and the characters. I am so proud of this author and this series. Make sure you read them, you will never forget the message you receive and you will carry these wonderful characters in your heart forever. less
