review 1: I find the second book to be really short but it was interesting enough to still make want to read it. Legacy’s story continues as she delves deeper into this gods/goddesses. Her relationship with Adin continues and tends to be on the deeper side of things although there comes the issue of trust because Adin is bonded to Venus. There were some twist and turns in the story. I liked the characters more here since there was more depth to them. I disliked the cliffhanger but luckily I have the next book of the series to read.I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
review 2: Once again...two stars instead of the three I would ordinarily give it-- EDITING!!! Same pronoun problem as the first book. Actually, I'd probably only give this one 2.5 because
... more the sexuality and lack of parental presence (or even authority) within the scope of the novel is disappointing. The only parent actually involved in their child's life on a semi-consistent basis is Medusa and even she- in this novel, unlike the first- scarcely breathes an appearance. And what the heck does Lissa actually DO? She is constantly having to leave town for one reason or another... it doesn't even seem legit. Just a tool to get the authority figure out of the way. And really, what authority figure is she? She skims the surface of a talk about Adin spending the night and prefacing her "concern" with the statement "I can't really tell you what to do". And where the heck is Olive? There was such a big deal made in the first book about how Olive is really adopted but no one cares because Lissa took her in as a baby...and we see her (if I remember correctly) ONCE, and in this second novel the only memorable reference to her is for Legacy to run to her room to look at Rose's house. less
