review 1: Interesting start to the series. It wasn't a perfect fit for my book tastes but it kept me interested and entertained. The hero was a nice guy which was nice because I think those are underrepresented in books. Not sure about the feel that the two mains have some kind of paranormal aspect that pulls them together, but I could get around that.Shared with my daughter and its always nice to find a series we can both read and discuss.
review 2: Overall I enjoyed this book. Time travel, an agency that actually make sense - I could appreciate that. But I thought everything happened really fast especially Michael and Emerson's relationship. I understand that they had a connection and I attribute the way the author wrote it to that, but I've read some really good bo... moreoks where the relationship is similar to that of said couple and it didn't feel rushed.Also, which is a first for me, I liked Kaleb better than Michael. That never happens! I always have a thing for the good guy, love the good guy because he's genuine and just . . . good, but IDK I felt like Kaleb was better developed than Michael and he only had a few scenes. But in those scenes I got a sense for who he really was, understood the pain he was in, the wall he put up and I also happen to love a confident man. Yes, he was perceived as a player, but I could immediately sense that he was serious when he said the things he said to Emerson. I liked Michael but I felt his character kept too many secrets from Emerson and the reader. In turn, I felt like that put on damper on his overall look. And the situation with Ava didn't help. I mean what the hell was Emerson supposed to think??I will be reading the second book because I'm really excited to hear Kaleb's voice, but I'll get it from the library. less
