review 1: Insofar as plot and story arc went, I thought this book did a good job of finishing out the series. I think I would have preferred just one POV, though, instead of the split between Hallie and Dune; there was one or two times that I felt like it was helpful to have both, and otherwise it was like seeing the same thing twice, or seeing how they were reacting to each other, which the narrative made pretty plain, so it felt redundant. Hallie was also big on the sexual innuendos, and not so innuendo-innuendos, which I could have done without, but whatever--that was part of her character. Another thing I didn't like--not that I didn't like it, but it felt like it was nothing more than feeding fan's desires--was when the Hourglass gang came down to help, then the second-to-last ... morechapter, too. They never actually did anything, but it gave McEntire a chance to show Hallie interacting with the gang, and it gave the fans some long cameos of earlier characters and gooey shots of previous couples still in love. To me, it felt totally unnecessary, especially since none of them did anything except have a quick heart-to-heart with Hallie, which neither impacted the plot or the character arcs. Would it have been fun as a novella sort of thing, related to the story but not in the story? Yes. But it just took up space and slowed down the pace within the actual story. Also, and I like happy endings as much or more than anyone, everyone pairing up was just a bit much. Could I accept Emerson and Michael hooking up within their story? Yes. Could I accept Kaleb and Lily hooking up within their story? Yes. Could I accept Hallie and Dune hooking up within their story? Yes, but (to be honest) it was getting kind of old. But even Ava gets a someone, and probably Nate would've too, if he'd been just a smidgen older, and that was just too much wish-fulfillment for me. The stories were romance #1, story #2, which is fine, but by book three it felt like I'd been there, done that twice already, so it lost the magic for me. So while I liked it, and the series as a whole, it didn't live up to what I was hoping for.
review 2: The last book in the hourglass series did not fail to disappoint. It was told in yet another persons point of view, except this time the point of view changed about every other chapter. It was good to be able to get into the thoughts of more than one character at a time, and there was just the right amount of romance. I'm very happy with how this series has turned out, and would recommend it to many people. less

weird ending and the author did not really elaborate on some things that were confusing in the end.
