review 1: I've always wanted to know more about Ashwini and the vampire, Janvier, that she is always hunting. I liked having more of a backstory for them but I'm waiting for the full story. There is enough backstory to keep you curious and wanting more. Will they get together or not? Will Ashwini stick to her rules or will those rules slowly crumb? I also appreciated this peak into the politics of a smaller angelic court. Nazarach is brutal and heartless. Will he continue to rule his area of the South under an ever evolving Archangel Raphael? The dynamics of his court...that fear seemed unbearable as a reader.
review 2: Janvier and Ashwini, what can I say other than I love them both? Janvier is a dangerous predator who uses his charm to great affect and Ashwini is a Guil... mored Hunter with no patience for any prevarication. Janvier and Ashwini dance around each other and yet their romance will be legendary. This was an amazing novella that shows a little more about their relationship and sets up their book wonderfully. less
