review 1: I have seen pancakes with more dimension than the characters in this book. Everything about this book tries too hard. It tries too hard to be funny and to be tender and to be thought-provoking but doesn't accomplish any of those feats. The behavior of the characters was unbelievable. I say this as someone who recently experienced the death of my mother and going through her things and selling her house with the help of my two sisters. The author's take on grief is extremely juvenile. And the discovery of the mother's other life...again, the characters' behavior was not believable. The story did not create sympathy for Mia. I ended up hating her. Also, I struggled to keep any of the characters straight. They weren't well-developed enough to take on life of their own. One la... morest sticking point--I have never seen so many exclamation points in my life. Okay, so now that that's off my chest...it was an easy read and somehow I kept going, even when I rolled my eyes on every page. So there were some addicting qualities to it. I definitely wanted to know Mia's story. More so than the daughters'. And the recipes in the back bumped up the rating maybe more than they should have, but i thought that was really cute.
review 2: The Graham sisters reunite for the funeral of their beloved mother. When going through her things they find a memoir of sorts. Though dismayed by what they’ve learned the sisters take to heart the lessons to never take life for granted and to appreciate especially the mundane events of everyday life - timely advice because all three are at crossroads in their personal lives. More Than You Know is a novel of faith and family that will resonate with many readers. I enjoyed it. less

Slightly predictable, but I'd love an update on the characters!

Decent comfort read, but treacly and with a too-neat ending.
