review 1: This book, simply put, was wonderful. It was both quirky and heartbreaking, and in no way what I was expecting. A story about a girl navigating a confusing home life and being the new kid as a senior in high school, Beatrice ' s friendship with Jonah is exactly what you'd think she needs, until you realize he has his own issues that need working out. Standiford paints a charming and sad relationship between two friends who aren't in love but are trying to get by in the world together. A refreshing change from most YA novels. This isn't a teen love story. Like Jonah and Beatrice ' s relationship, it's much much more.
review 2: Is it safe to say that I LOVE, LOVE, Absolutely LOVE this book? Because I do. This book moved me and touched my heart. It evoked emotions
... more I cannot describe inside of me. The writing was simplistic but beautiful. I loved the storyline, and the radio conversations were adorably amazing. The end made me cry, which is pretty incredible, because this is the first book that has made me do that. I didn't even cry during the Fault in Our Stars, which is saying something. I feel like Jonah is kind of a jerk, but at the same time I understand his motives. That's yet another perplexing thing about this novel. I very highly recommend this book to everyone; it'll boggle your mind in an innovative way. less
