review 1: This is a very knowing post-modern novel whose author is aware that to throw a mixed bag of people and plots together is a good way to create interest in a book, and then is able to pull everything into a coherent form for an entertaining read. However, that isn't quite enough. Sure the book rolls by with it's mixed bag of characters and scenarios, but I was always aware I was 'reading a book'. The best books take you out of the fiction and - however absurd - make the plot reality, make you care for those characters. I was interested in this book as a curio, an amalgam of 'stuff', but ultimately no more than that. Too much was too fanciful and ultimately unbelieveable (yes, I do want to believe this story). The ending is also too tightly pulled together (Kevin's interactio... moren with his nemesis is frankly unlikely - particularly considering what he has gone through). Whilst it was a quick and easy read, any hint of depth was a plot simulcrum. Maybe it's this kind of book which annoys me because it is no more than the sum of its parts. Either way, I did enjoy it; although it's not as funny nor as shocking as some reviewers would have you believe.
review 2: I really need to break myself of the habit of completing books because I start them. This was an unexplainable waste of time. Nothing about the book was in the least bit interesting. The plot was confusing and the characters were shallow. I had trouble trying to decide why I would have any interest in the subject matter or the storyline. Oh well, another book completed or a total waste of a few hours. less

Üzerine de "Nazizmin Gizli Kökenleri" ve "Kara Güneş"i okuyarak dört nala ilerleyeceğim.

Gritty, engrossing, and full of dark humor.

Very funny but at times a bit graphic.
