review 1: i loved this book! There was so many original ideas and creativity put into this book that it was fun to read! In some parts it did relate to coraline though like when the housekeeper came in and she was this demon thing and in coraline there is this fake button eyed mom who turns into the monster thing. Another thing that i really loved about this book was that the character was not named. I don't necessarily think that the name is really important either. It was just cool that the character was and unknown name. Overall, i could not put this book down i literally finished it in two days because i couldn't stop reading!

The embryonic ocean of life itself is a pond in the back yard of a wonderful family of good witch women, and a lonely little boy survives monster. The wonder of this book is that it can be read by us adults as an abused little boy's escape into a world of imagination, an escape in the end that saves him. Or . . . it can be the most magical of fantasy stories. Thank you, friend Crystal, for recommending this book to me. less
