review 1: I was unsure about this book initially. I had reservations about the lack of punctuation! however once I started reading it I just couldn't put it down.comment re this app - it is frustrating that I can't pick UK edition on my account - the US cover really doesn't do the book any favours - Mary was not a middle class girl as the US cover seems to portray. she was a farm girl with one dress that never got washed?
review 2: Sad, very sad.It reminded me of Anne of Green Gables without the ice cream songs, fluff and of course the endings are quite different. You may or may not like how the book is written (from the perspective of an undereducated barely literate 15 year-old girl), but I found that it contributed to the authenticity and character of the book.I loved
... more the main character m.a.r.y. and her matter-in-fact attitude about life.Very quick to read (1 night) but be forewarned all is not well in Mary's world. less

Adictivo, conciso, directo, te lleva a vivir un experiencia como pocas, nada común!

This is the kind of story I dislike, too bleak, that said I loved this book.
