review 1: i chose this book based on the title. i didn't know anything about it until i got the book and read what it was about on the back. i could not put this book down from the moment i got it. the main focus Amy is a high school student whose mother had committed suicide. from the beginning Amy is telling us the story of she came to be hostage three. after failing her a levels amys dad decides that he wants to go on a sailing trip and see the world. Amy isn't to please with this idea or spending how knows how long on a boat in the middle of nowhere with her dad and her stepmother. after sailing for a while from England they end up in the Indian ocean and Somalian pirates take over there yacht. the pirates don't want to harm them, they just want to ransom them for a lot of money... more. 5 million dollars worth. while Amy is being held on the boat she falls for a 25 year old pirate named Farouz. it is a dangerous relationship but Amy cant help it. this story is a little bit about love and the ending is quite sad. i loved this book from the very beginning, and i could not put it down. i really enjoyed the story of Amy and farouz and im sad that it had to end the way it did.
review 2: Seventeen-year-old Amy is mad at the world, especially her dad, a very wealthy investment banker who remarried quickly after her mother committed suicide. Her anger caused her to act out and fall short of graduating from high school. Dad has the bright idea of taking the family sailing around the world on a luxurious yacht with the hope that Amy and he could bond. Unfortunately they are taken hostage by Somali pirates. Amy is intrigued by one of the hostages and fancies herself in love with him. She wonders though, if commanded to kill her, would he? less

Good suspenseful beginning. She fell in love with a pirate a little too quickly for my taste.
