review 1: I thought book had an interesting spin in the begining and the idea of vampires being ninjas did not seem that farfetched when explained. However I felt the story quickly started to loose steam the closer the characters got to the ninja village and fell apart completely after that. Taro's personality was all over the place from young child to full man naive to insightful, and the vampire angle had a negligble impact to the overall story. I wanted to like the book but in my opinion it needed more work.
review 2: This novel was compelling the entire way through. I read it years and years ago, and apparantly there is a sequel, so i am probably going to read this book again. The ideas behind this novel are very original and unique, something I always look for when ... morereading.I remember a good deal about this book and I can't think of any reason why anyone wouldn't find them thrilling,entertaining, and endearing. less
