review 1: Unfortunately, I didn't care for this story. I've been reading MC romances a lot lately and love a rough and tumble growly biker. Although the story has lots of sexy bits, I just didn't get the point or feel the remotest connection between Havoc and Carla. Sexual, yes and nothing more. I couldn't get a bead on the plot of the story. Typically MC romances have a subplot that is closely linked to the romance do the two connect nicely. If there was a subplot in this story, it was not apparent to me. Havoc is an enforcer who beats down people for his MC. He wreaks Havoc, I suppose. But the alley scene where he is beating the two guys who owed the MC money occurred out of the blue and for no reason or rhyme -- other than to show his prowess. Possibly this fits into a plot in bo... moreok 2, I don't know. I probably will not either as there wasn't too much in this story to spark my curiosity in the next one. I also was not pleased at the 80% cliffhanger ending that occurred at an odd spot. Not a natural cliffhanger at all. It felt as if it stopped in the middle of a thought giving it more of a serial feel than a true novella.

I would recommend reading this book after Revive, Storm book 3 and before Slay, Storm book 4.Havoc has lived his life on the outskirts of the Storm MC. He has taken up the nomad lifestyle after being burned by a woman, his trust in the opposite sex is virtually non-existent. He picks up women in bars for one-night stands, but he never truly gets the satisfaction that he wants.Carla is a young woman attending college but her plans seem to change because she just feels that she is missing something in her life. She grew up in a home with 3 older siblings and a single mother who worked endlessly to make ends meet with the help of her older children.A chance meeting between Havoc & Carla leads to flying sparks, witty, sassy & sexy words said between the two, you’ll read through this at a fast pace. And that is essentially the only drawback about this book for me, I really wish that it would have been longer. less
