review 1: This is a work of fiction based on the facts of the genocide in Sudan. It is one of the most difficult books I've ever read. The horrors inflicted on non-Muslims in southern Sudan are unimaginable. There were passages that turned my stomach. That said, I believe this is an important book as it tells the story of what is happening there.There were some parts of the book that were a bit far-fetched for me. Overall this was a good but difficult read.
