review 1: Now this book had me turning pages...oops, going through CD's like crazy. However, the end just pissed me off. I waited until I had completed dinner and was able to sit still and listen to the misfortune of the author just leaving "who" the adulterer was. This book is about four married friends that live in the same neighborhood; Jessa, Renee', Arisa & Jamie. All the couples hung out together until Jessa's husband dies. However, they still include her in the group until one day, the other three ladies receive the same text that Jessa is having an affair with their husband. When a woman hears or sees this information, she's devastated and heartbroken. Each woman reviews their marriage and re-assess what went wrong and what they must do to fix it. This whole day is filled wi... moreth remorse, anger, betrayal and regret. In my opinion, the ending of the story will leave you in suspense because the author does not reveal who the cheating man was. It's a good book that will cause all types of reactions to the situations.
review 2: I've had this book for a while and took my time getting to reading it. But once I started, I was hooked. Following the path of what Aria, Jaime, and Renee go through after each getting the taunting text from their friend Jessa about running off with one of their husbands was an interesting ride, learning things about their pasts through flashbacks and the tailspin that one message sent them all into. One fell into alcoholism, one into extreme and detrimental jealousy/distrust and the other into an addiction to sex that she has to pay for. It was a trip going through each woman's journey to how and why it might be their husband that strayed, and the varied rollercoaster of emotions and revealing of chips in the facades they had maintained for years. The author left us wanting more enough that I personally was looking forward to reading the sequel. Cliffhangers like that can sometimes turn me off but Ms. Bryant hit this one on the head. less
