Keynote Speakers: Science, Imagination and Wonder – Oxford Conference April 2018

NASA’s Spitzer Space Telescope has captured a new, infrared view of the choppy star-making cloud called M17, also known as Omega Nebula or the Swan nebula.

Delighted to announce our three keynote speakers for the Ordered Universe conference in April 2018 (3rd-5th), Science, Imagination and Wonder – The Legacy of Robert Grosseteste. They are:

Professor Simon Oliver, Van Mildert Professor of Divinity, Durham University and Residentiary Canon of Durham Cathedral;

Professor Suzanne Conklin Akbari, Professor of English and Medieval Studies and Director of the Centre for Medieval Studies, University of Toronto;

Professor Jim al-Khalili OBE, Professor of Physics and Professor of Public Engagement in Science, University of Surrey

We’re very grateful to all three speakers who will talk on various aspects of Grosseteste’s interests and legacy, in the Middle Ages and for the modern period, and from the perspectives of Theology, Literary Studies and Medieval Science, and Modern Physics.

If you would like to submit an abstract for the conference, the call for papers is now public. Please do circulate as well!
