review 1: The Summer before boys is a really interesting book. This book shows how a young girl can come to be independent on her own. It adds emotions from any regular day to the best experiences ever. IN addition, many kids can relate to how they feel on their parents going to a war and not seeing them in forever. This portrays the feelings a kid can have when they get lonely and miss someone. I highly recommend this book to those who have not felt some emotion towards the kids who need help in not crying themselves to sleep for their parents they dearly miss.

... moreher has to work. So the family arranged for her to stay with her sister. A story of first kisses and the shadows of make-believe. I fell in love with Baskin's writing style. She did excellent work in creating an atmosphere where her readers could remember what it was like to be that age (for us older peeps), and I am sure is able to connect with readers of the target age. less
