The Penderwicks are going on another summer vacation!!!! This time to a cottage in Maine called the Birches in Point Mouette. But, instead of having Daddy, Iantha, Ben, and Rosalind, they are on their own without them. Very Sad. Now Skye is the OAP, which means Oldest Available Penderwick. Skye is not feeling up for this adventure but she does it anyway. And lucky her. Pretty much everything that can go wrong does go wrong. But something good does happen. It is very sweet and you hear more about it in the next book. If you loved the first two books then you will love this one.
This book was as perfect as the first two ones. I loved this book as much as I loved the first two ones. I hope that I love the fourth book as much as I did these three. Everything was perfect. Like it was truly perfect. If you do not know what the perfect book is you need to read the Penderwicks. I hope that there are people like the Penderwicks in real life because in my eyes they are perfect. I feel the happiness coming out of this family and I am really jealous for them.
The characters were new and exciting. There were some changes in between the second and the third books but that was okay. What I really liked was how much the characters changed while reading!!!! I loved Skye and understood how hard it must be for her. I think that Skye is my all time favorite character in this book. I don’t know how that happened. I thought that I would connect with bookish Jane but no. I connected with Skye. Well, Jane is a bit sappy. I like Skye better. But, all the characters are great.
There was really not that much of a plot in this book. Just like the last book. But it didn’t matter. I still loved the book. I liked hearing about all their adventures. It made me excited and happy. Moist kof the stories were ongoing for most of the book. But the most important part left me in tears. It was so sad!!!! And happy!!!!! It was bittersweet!!!!! Now I might cry again!!!!!! Wait, no I’m not. It is okay now. If you want to find out about what is making me so sad you need to read the book.
Point Mouette was a really interesting setting. I liked going up to Maine again. I did that last week and went to Acadia. Point Moitte sounds like another place that I want to live and now there are too many of those. My poor travel list is going longer. I feel like I will never be able to read about this scene enough. And to think. That if I what to be a writer then I need to write something like that. It is a very scary thought. I really do not think that I could ever write something like that.
I think that is one of my favorite books of all time. It might even be better then the first two. I do not know that for sure. Please remember to fill out my survey for how I can make my blog better. You can find the link on my about page. Thanks for Reading!!!!!! Have A Great Day!!!!! -Annalee and Buttons
