The Hangman's Daughter
review 1: This was the third book I've read in the Hangman's Daughter series and I won't be reading a fourth. I started out really liking the series, but now after the third book, I've found that I don't really like the character of Simon, I'm annoyed with Magdalena for settling for him, and I really dislike reading about torture. Perhaps, because I've read the three books in a little under 6 months I also find the plots too similar -- someone is falsely accused of a crime, tortured anyway and the trio must race against time to find the real culprits before they are executed.
review 2: This is the 4th in the Hangman's Daughter series. A little redundant in places, but you have to love(or at least I have love) a book that revolves around a monastery and the secret tu
... morennels underneath (that really existed); a monk's apothecary; a medieval automaton; a library, and of course, the hangman running around solving mysteries. As usual, at the end of the book the author gives you directions for how to find the historical places used in the novel. less

I think this is the end of the series and it was an overall satisfying end to a great series.
