review 1: This book had the potential to be very good. However, within it's many floors (like there always are in short books) the characters were not explained enough. I know it's only a short story, but common, at least make it a little bit longer, if only for the readers to attempt to enjoy it. Allen was a pretty boring character for me, for instance - I laughed when it came to him kidnapping his soon to be ex-wife. Like can you not think of a more original way, this has been done way too many times before. Anyway, it was done on totally the wrong pretence. He wanted to win back her love? Yeah right. If anything that might have put her off his oblique ways more than his annoying male gender role. I found this book a big cliché. With it once again thinking that by bringing a baby... more into the world it would solve the worlds problems (or theirs). Although, I was surprised at the ending. This book is a very short read (which it should be for only 54 pages :o). I suppose it's good for a quick time waster. Although, I can't really moan a lot I got it for free off Amazon. I recommend if free, however if not 'it's a no from me'.
review 2: I was given this book along with "The Admirer's Secret," to review. Having already read the other book, I was anxious to see what all happen in this story. This is a prequel to "The Admirer's Secret." It centers around the screen writer Allen Michaels. Successful in his work, but unsuccessful in his marriage, life just spirals out of control for this man. The only problem is, his decision to handle his problems is not the best way. (That's all I can say)This is a short 56 page story, so I can't give you any more details other than what I just said. It'll give the entire story away. It's always nice to see workings of another person's thought process. Ms. Crane did a wonderful job allowing us into Allen Michaels head. Granted, I don't ever want to revisit the place. less

Short and snappy crime novella, with a purpose of being a prequel...
